Project Description
The project concerns the construction of two single-storey stone residences with swimming pools in Andros.
The development will take place on a plot with a total area of 5,300.00 sqm. Access is provided via a municipal road at the northernmost and highest point of the property.
The two residences feature similar interior layouts and corresponding outdoor spaces. They are positioned at different elevations—three meters apart—to ensure, as much as possible, unobstructed views toward the horizon.
Internally, each residence is arranged on a single level and consists of an open-plan living area (living room – kitchen – dining room), three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The buildings are placed in accordance with the natural slope and topography of the land.
The view, the shape, and the orientation of the plot determined the layout of the buildings. Great care was taken to integrate the architecture into the landscape.
The design proposes a composition that is functionally adapted to contemporary living, while at the same time respecting the traditional architecture of Andros and the local environment. This is achieved through the use of characteristic architectural forms and natural materials.
The buildings are fully integrated into the shaped natural and residential environment, as seen in the topographic plan, and respect the character of the area. They provide improved living conditions by maintaining continuity of open spaces in generous dimensions.
The structures meet aesthetic standards both as standalone residences and in relation to the wider landscape, in terms of volumetric composition, façades, and all visible elements.
