Project Description
This project involves the completion of four ground-level residences with basements, adjacent to each other, which were at the concrete construction stage. The building has been positioned in alignment with the natural terrain and the slope of the plot, consisting of two levels on each floor. Due to the sloping nature of the plot, the main level of each residence was constructed with a height difference of 1.50 meters from one to the next.
Our goal was to break the monotony of the facades, given that the four residences are identical and arranged in a row. For this reason, parts of the two main facades of the unified building (southwestern and northeastern) were clad with natural local stone, thus interrupting the continuous and repetitive white surfaces of the walls. This approach allows the building to blend more harmoniously into the broader natural environment. Additionally, we landscaped the surrounding area, as the uncovered spaces extend in front of each residence, reducing the initially planned retaining walls.
Furthermore, a swimming pool was added at the lower end of the structures, on the southern part of the plot, serving all four residences. Around the pool, an open space was designed to complement its functionality.
The proposed design aims to adapt both to the traditional materials of the island (local stone) and the use of white lime plaster, ensuring seamless integration into the broader natural landscape.
